Abstract
In Kırklareli, there are buildings that were built in late eighteenth and in the beginning of twentieth century. The windows of these buildings reflect the architectural characteristics of those times like roof which have slopes to four sides and overhangs supported by wooden shores. The windows are one the apperant faces of architectural culture. This study includes the analysis of windows of buildings from old residence units to nowadays, in functional, structural and in aesthetic way. So that it has been aimed at using these data in new designs with respect to cultural continuation and in building protection studies. As a result of intensive local observations, the original buildings that are on present traditional streets are determined, by analysing the woodwork of the windows which are not changed and that has been classified in various ways. The results of the analysises are reached to useful outcomes which will be used on the concepts of window wood work on side organizations.
